Welcome

Winchelsea School is a community special school committed to meeting the needs of pupils aged 4-18, with a wide range of learning difficulties. We are heavily over-subscribed and currently have over 200 pupils on roll. This includes satellite provision for over 70 pupils at Old Town Infant School, Canford Heath Junior School and Magna Academy. Our provision also includes an on-site Post 16 suite and a life skills centre.

We have a committed, knowledgeable and experienced staff team of over 100 and we pride ourselves on creating bespoke packages for pupils which meet their individual needs and prepare them for life. We strongly believe we have created a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment which allows our children to feel secure and be successful. This allows us to provide an effective, broad curriculum which allows all children to succeed.

We are passionate about improving outcomes for our pupils and we work very closely with families, outside agencies and organisations to facilitate this. To provide further support, we also provide an outreach service to a wide range of local schools.

Thank you for visiting our website. If you would like any further information or a tour of our school, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Geoff Cherrill, Headteacher.
